The Art of The Perfect Fit

What you need

Six steps

  1. Brush the mane

Brush the mane thoroughly before you begin.

  2. Divide into broad sections

Separate the mane into broad sections for the braids.

  3. Braid tightly

Braid each section tightly and evenly.

  4. Sew in with thread

Sew each braid in with thread, keeping it compact and tight so there is no room for movement.

  5. Insert the long pin

Push the long pin through the braid from your side.

  6. Join and secure

Fit the short pointed counterpart from the opposite side and screw it fully home. Make sure no hairs are caught in between the parts.

A compact braid makes all the difference

Avoid puffing up the braids: the pin should rest against the braid rather than sit unsupported and tilt. With a sparse mane, take particular care to keep the braids compact.

Do

Correct fitting viewed from above: both ends of a pink pin sit against a compact braid

Compact braids

Avoid

Pins below loose, uneven mane braids

The pin must be positioned centrally. Here, it points too far downwards.

The Pin is tipping over, too much puffing.
